Youth Summit 2020 Goes Virtual

Current challenges didn’t stop our students from connecting with community leaders, business owners and activists online through panel discussions, and breakout sessions. Special guests included Lieutenant Governor, Garlin Gilchirst II, and Detroit Mayor, Mike Duggan. Students also had the opportunity to network with Detroit area companies and college representatives during the first virtual Opportunity Fair. Watch some of the highlight sessions below.

Youth Summit Conference 2019 established a Pipeline of Opportunity for career development and community involvement, including the first Youth Summit Leadership Council. The Council is composed of high school-age students who represent a variety of organizations throughout Detroit, as well as key business and community leaders, who meet throughout the year to build on the goals established during the conference, and provide year-round support to teens and community leaders.
