L!FE Leaders = Undeniable Success

L!FE Leaders youth from Detroit entering 9th grade are provided with the opportunities they seek and the resources they need to thrive in their lives, careers, and within their community, helping them to navigate educational and workforce constraints through academic enrichment, arts-based education, workforce development, and civic engagement. Each day starts with math & ELA lessons, and theatre exercises ground the curriculum, helping youth stave off summer learning loss and build confidence, communication skills, emotional intelligence, and leadership presence.

As a compliment to academic enrichment interventions with certified teachers, participants spend afternoons working and engage in workshops, neighborhood tours, and roundtables with Detroit leaders, developing public speaking, financial literacy, personal branding, design thinking, and workplace skills. Immersive, experiential training in the afternoons ensures they have the paid work experience, skills, personal networks, adult mentorship, and self-belief to succeed in post-secondary education and employment, connecting them with a strong, purpose-driven "Why" of their own design that fuels their morning studies daily. With no GPA or academic prerequisites required, our organization develops life-long learners and leaders who have the confidence and the audacity to achieve their post-secondary goals and beyond.
