CHRISTOPHER BROCHERT

Christopher G. Brochert has a distinguished reputation as an industry leader with over 35 years of experience in shopping center acquisition, development, construction, and leasing. As a co-founder and partner of Lormax Stern Development Company, Mr. Brochert is responsible for development, redevelopment/repositioning, construction and leasing. Mr. Brochert’s expertise in the field of Retail Shopping Center Development is nationally recognized in the shopping center industry. He has been a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) for over 35 years and is on the Board of Directors of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Brochert has been principally involved in the acquisition and development of over 25 million square feet of gross leasable retail space in several markets primarily in Michigan, and extending to the eastern half of the United States Mr. Brochert oversees all of the Lormax Stern construction and has an industry wide reputation for high quality and cost-effective developments. He insures each project is to the highest standards while being at the most economical cost.

Mr. Brochert is also responsible for overseeing the recruitment of retailers for all retail shopping center developments. He is a pioneer in the industry from a power center standpoint. His success stems from long-term excellent relationships with local, regional, and national retailers of all sizes and categories; as well as his strong broker network developed over the years. His expertise includes strategic repositioning and coordinating the tenant mix to craft the optimal retailer synergy in each development.

Mr. Brochert is also involved in redevelopment of the downtown area of Detroit. He personally oversaw the development of a new gastropub, named Central Kitchen and Bar, which operates in the Campus Martius area and faces Cadillac Square. He is also a partner in a 1475 E. Jefferson which is bringing housing and a needed all-new grocer concept to the historic district of Detroit. Mr. Brochert also puts his charitable efforts back into the city of Detroit. He contributes to educational charities that benefit the youth of the city including the Jalen Rose Academy, University Prep Academy, and Boys Hope Girls Hope Mentorship Program of Detroit. His charitable means do not stop there, as he is also an active sponsor for Angels of Hope, Whaley’s Children’s Center of Flint, the Rhonda Walker Foundation, Wigs for Kids, and the Alzheimer’s Association.

In 2016 Mr. Brochert was named as one of the “50 Names to Know in Real Estate” by Crain’s Detroit Business. In 2017 his company Lormax Stern earned awards such as “Top Owners in the Midwest” by Midwest Real Estate News, “Cool Places to Work” by Crain’s Business Detroit, and “Metro Detroit’s 2017 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” by 101 Best and Brightest .
